Feed with water:
Mix eQ Psyllium powder of 10 g / 100 kg of body weight of the horse per day with ratio of 40 g / 2 l of water. Stir until smooth, and allow the mixture to precipitate. Mix the slimy mass to the feed, and serve it to a horse. Continue for 5-7 days.
- Adult horses: 40-50 g of powder / day – 2 liters of water
- Ponies and small breeds: 30 g of powder / day – 1.5 liters of water
- Foals: 25 g powder / day – 1 liter of water
Treatment by a veterinarian:
- Place the nose hose in place. Please make sure that you are definitely in the stomach.
- Make sure that the hose stays in place.
- mix 500 grams of eQ Psyllium Plus Powder in 6-8 liters of hand warm water
- hose immediately before the intense precipitation of the mixture, preferably with pump.
NOTE! eQ Psyllium Plus powder swells up very strongly. It binds water 40 times the weight. The horse must be ensured for each dosage a generous supply of water. The product binds effectively the sand of the colon of a horse and acts as a driver of sand. If the sand reoccurs after one regimen, you should continue the use. eQ Psyllium Plus is used for a few days on a curative basis about once a month, or following veterinarian’s
instructions. In continuous usage, the intestinal microbes adapt to digest psyllium and the impact of sand extraction is reduced. The surest way to determine a sand colic and possible exit of the sand is carrying out a veterinarian X-ray.
